The client's brief for this extension was for an extra living room that could also double as a guest room. This room was connected to a new timber-framed alfresco area. The garden was very established providing privacy and connection to the rest of the home. The room has fenestration on three sides making a very light-filled room with views of the street and garden. A classic Californian bungalow home on an elevated site provided an open plan rear addition with living, kitchen, dining seamlessly flowing through to alfresco and compact, well-vegetated back yard providing space and privacy. A first-floor addition was added with raked ceilings in the master bed and study.
